What we do
Are you going through a difficult time in your life? Are you worried about your relationship, children and/or work? Or do you have questions about your mental and/or emotional health? Are you following the advice of your doctor, a relative or a friend, or are you looking on your own for a psychologist/psychotherapist in order to discuss your concerns or to start up counselling or a therapy process? You then can apply to PsychologenAssociatie.
‘PsychologenAssociatie’ is a group of experienced psychologists /psychotherapists who offer counselling and psychotherapy in Dutch, French, English and Spanish to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. All our members are certified by the Belgian Commission of Psychologists and hold one (or more) professional degree(s) in psychotherapy.
Treatment in English is offered by Enriqueta Aranda Suárez (Strombeek-Bever), Jan Zeger Van Dessel, Dirk De Doncker and Sofie Maerevoet (Mechelen). You can contact them by calling directly to their mobile phones (click on their names below) and they will schedule a first appointment.
During this first meeting, you and your psychologist will discuss your concerns and motivations for seeking therapeutic support at this time, and together you will develop a treatment plan.
We are located at Verbeytstraat n°63 in the centre of Strombeek-Bever, at a short distance of the Atomium, the Brussels Ring and the A12 highway.
The consulting address in Mechelen is at Van Benedenlaan 19, Mechelen is a town situated between Brussels and Antwerp. The practice is located near the town centre at a ten minutes’ walking distance of the railway station.
An individual session costs € 58,- (session of 50 minutes), a couple or family session € 68,- (session of 60 minutes). Should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment due to unforeseen circumstances, please call your psychologist at least 2 working days in advance. Sessions that are not cancelled in advance will be charged at full price.
A professional code of ethics requires each psychologist/psychotherapist to keep all information shared between psychologist and client in strict confidence. The only exceptions to this confidentiality are situations involving suspected neglect or abuse of children orvulnerable adults; or situations including court subpoenas and instances where it is believed that the client is in danger of harming him/herself or is intending to harm another person. When appropriate, and with the client’s written permission only, a therapist may exchange information with physicians or other professionals. Please feel free to discuss any concerns with your therapist.
